Knead the Dough: Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until a dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes. The dough should be smooth and elastic.
Step 2: Let the Dough Rise
First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size. This step is crucial for achieving a light and fluffy texture.
Step 3: Prepare the Filling
Mix the Filling: While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a separate bowl, combine the grated vegan cheese, shredded vegan mozzarella, and finely chopped red pepper. Mix well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Step 4: Shape the Buns
Divide the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into equal portions, depending on the desired size of your buns. This recipe typically makes about 8-10 buns.
Shape the Buns: Flatten each portion of dough into a circle. Place a generous amount of the cheese and pepper mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching to seal it in the center.
