Sift the flour and baking powder into the wet mixture. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the batter using a spatula or wooden spoon. Mix until just combined—be careful not to overmix, as this can make the cake dense.
Step 5: Pour and Garnish
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula for an even surface.
If desired, sprinkle chocolate flakes or raisins evenly over the top of the batter for added texture and sweetness.
Step 6: Bake
Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Halfway through baking, rotate the pan for even cooking if needed.
Step 7: Cool and Serve
Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes.
Carefully transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Serve plain or dusted with powdered sugar for an extra touch of elegance.
