Philly Cheese Steak Casserole

Ingredients (Serves 6-8)

For the Base:

2 pounds (900g) russet potatoes, peeled and diced into 1-inch cubes

1 ½ pounds (680g) thinly sliced steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank steak)

1 large green bell pepper, diced

1 large onion, diced

8 ounces (225g) mushrooms, sliced (optional)

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Sauce:

1 cup (240ml) beef broth

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons cornstarch or flour (to thicken)
