Cooking homemade ice cream with just three ingredients is a nice and simple way that gives you a creamy, pleasurable outcome. Now, gather your supplies: heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, and flavoring of some sort–say vanilla extract, cocoa powder or fruit puree. The richness and smooth texture of the ice cream comes from heavy cream while the sweetened condensed milk provides sweetness and prevents ice crystals from developing. Your ice cream base are these two things which can be modified to suit your desired taste.
After all these items have been found making ice-cream turns out to be incredibly easy as pie. Whip the heavy cream in a large mixing bowl until stiff peaks form is the first step. This incorporates air into the mixture hence making it light and fluffy. It is important not to over whip thus obtaining grainy texture.
Now slowly mix in sweetened condensed milk along with your preferred flavoring – either folded or incorporated – until evenly mixed through. Your homemade ice-cream starting point is ready at this stage. At this point you may also decide to add other extras like chocolate chips, crushed cookies or chopped nuts which give it an extra flavor plus texture.
Transfer the ice cream base, once it is well blended, into a canister that you can freeze. With your spatula, even the top of the mixture before covering it with either plastic wrap or a lid to keep away ice crystals. Put it in a freezer and allow it to harden for about six to eight hours.
