Homemade fritters recipe

Preparation: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix the dry ingredients well. In another bowl, beat the egg lightly. Add the milk, melted butter and vanilla extract (if using). Mix until well combined. Pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough.
