Potatoes are among the tastiest and most versatile ingredients in the world. Introduced in Europe after the discovery of America, the pot is now part of our gastronomic tradition and there are dozens of dishes in which the potato is the absolute protagonist.
However, however tasty they may be, not all the ways of cooking potatoes are healthy and appropriate to our health. The way the potatoes are prepared has a strong impact on the lightness of the dish: fry or season them with a lot of oil, for example, greatly increases the caloric intake of the dish.
We will explain below how to prepare them in a healthy and light manner, but without giving up the crunch and the flavor. The recipe for crisp crisp chips that we propose below allows us to integrate this food even into the strictest diets.
Ingredients for crispy crisps: 500 grams of yellow potatoes, 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt.
Clean the potatoes well, peel them and cut them into slices about 5 millimetres thick. Immerse them in cold water for a few minutes (10-15), then drain and place them in a saucepan filled with cold water with a pinch of salt.
These operations will make it possible to remove a little starch from the potatoes, but also to tenderize them before baking in the oven.
