Ingredients:
4 big yellow onions, cut into thin slices.
3 tablespoons of olive oil or butter without salt
1 small spoon of salt
1 small spoonful of sugar (if you want it sweeter)
4 pieces of minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon of dried rosemary
1/4 cup of white wine or vegetable broth
1 pound of the pasta you like the most, like spaghetti, fettuccine, or penne.
1/2 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, finely chopped (to decorate)
Add salt and pepper according to your preference.
PREPARATION:
Start by cutting your onions into thin slices. This could take a while, but it’s definitely worth the effort.
Put the chopped onions in your slow cooker, then add the olive oil or butter, salt, and if you want, sugar. Mix thoroughly.
3. Put a lid on the pot and cook on low heat for approximately 8-10 hours. Stir every so often until the onions turn a deep golden color and caramelize.
