Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

Ingredients:
Wet Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup melted butter (or vegetable oil)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix-Ins:
1 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
Instructions:
Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners or grease the cups with butter or non-stick spray.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
Stir in the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Combine Wet and Dry:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined (do not overmix).
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Fill Muffin Tins:
Divide the batter evenly into the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top for a prettier finish.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
