Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Rising Time: 1 hour + 40 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours
Servings: 2-3 pizzas
Ingredients:
400g (about 3 1/4 cups) of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon dry yeast (for bread)
1 teaspoon sugar
200 ml (about 3/4 cup) warm water
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
Olive oil, for drizzling
Additional oregano, for sprinkling on top
1 teaspoon salt, for topping (optional)
Directions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, dry yeast, sugar, and salt.
Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients.
Stir the mixture until a dough forms, then knead it for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough with a damp towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Second Rising:
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to remove air bubbles. Shape the dough into a ball, cover, and let it rise for an additional 40 minutes.
Prepare the Pizza:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
After the second rise, roll out the dough into your desired pizza size on a lightly floured surface.
Transfer the rolled dough to a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza stone.
